Chandranath Temple in Sitakundu (Chittagong)

 Chandranath Temple is a pilgrim place for Hindu's whose are live in Bangladesh. Not only that, This place is gaining tourist attraction day by day. Specially, natural beauty of Sitakundu is enough to catch the attention of tourist. The most attractive spot in Sitakundu is holy Chandranath Hill.

It is about 4 kilometer away from Sitakundu Bazar. There has a folk saying that A king from Nepal get order to built 5 Shiva temple when he was sleep. After getting this holy order, he had built 5 Shiva temple all the world. Those 5 temple are Poshupotinath (Nepal), Biswanath (Kashi, India), Bhutnath (Pakistan), Adinath (Moheshkhali, Bangladesh) and Chandranath (Sitakundu, Bangladesh). In religious scriptures and history, We have seen that In ancient time great rishi Bhargav lived there. The great character of ramayana, Shri Ram was lived there for very small time with Mother Sita and Brother Laxman. That time they was in Bonobas (have to live in hill).

Great Rishi Bhargab know that Lord Ram will come in that place. For their need, He created three small pond called KUNDU. Because if Ram stay with his wife and brother, they need water for bath. Holy mother Sita take bath in this kundu. For that reason, the name of this place is Sita kundu.

Honuman Temple

There has another two temple except Chandranath Temple. These two temple is Sita Mandir and Honuman Mandir. We knw that honuman is a great warrior in ramayana.

Shiva Choturdhoshi Mela
A special occasion held there every year. Thats called Mela (Fair). It is festival of Lord Shiva. Hindu's called this festival Moha Shivaratri. Specailly Hindu women's observe this dady for the well beign of their Husband. A lot of pilgrim come from home and abroad in this festival.
